Further to my most recent posting in this thread I post a copy of the e-mail I received from the school waiban W trying to explain away the discrepancy between the 2 versions of the contract.It's in quotation marks.

"Dear Foxy:

I got your letter.And want to do some explanation.

1.For 70% students will satisfied your class is for the reason that some of the teachers are not very cooperative and don't accept our advice on teaching,and the students reflect to us their teacher don,t prepare before class and only read the text book on class.But according to the old contract, we have nothing to do with this.So we add this item in to the new contract,it doesn't mean we don't trust you, we just want to restrict this kind of things.

2.For the 2 terms contract,I explained to the agency that introduced you to our school,maybe they didn't tell you.After the 1 term contract is expire,if you want to continue working in our school and the school is glad to renew the contract, we can cooperate for one more term.And we will pay for the holiday for3000yuan.
We belive you are a very excellent and responsible teacher,and hope our cooperation will be wonderful.
