As of the writing of this post February 12, 2009 this school has bad ownership, and is not a good place to work. This school changed ownership in July 2007. From that time my pay was always late. My severance pay was 4 months late, and I had to barter for the sum they owed me. My contract said that I would have national medical insurance. The new owner canceled my insurance, illegally, by telling the national health insurance organization that I was an independent contractor so that the school would not have to pay my health insurance. They continued to take (steal) money from me for 5 months to pay for my medical insurance even after canceling it.

My wife's father died in June of 2007 due to injuries sustained when his bicycle was run over by a car. I found a replacement teacher for the time I was gone. When we were discussing the severance pay JC Kim, one of the directors, actually told my wife that I left for China on a work day and that I should not have.

The labor Standards Act says that an employer has to give you a 30 minute lunch break for every 4 hours worked and a 1 hr break for every 8 hours sometime during the middle of the shift. These directors think it is okay for you to work from 1pm-8:30pm or 9pm with only a 10 minute lunch break because they start after 12:00 pm. As the Director JC Kim told me "Koreans eat lunch at 12 pm and dinner after 9 so it is okay for them to do this.

Although the apartment was provided by a former owner, it was so-so if you don't mind having the love motel right out your window. We heard noise most nights 3 or 4 times a night: 1 am , 3 am, 6 am etc. At least the space was good and the view was pretty good from the top of the building.

Heed my advice if you hear of ECF Wonermin in Mokdong that has been hiring English teachers for internet teaching and is looking for an on-site English teacher.
Stay away. This school is not in Mok-dong; it is in Sinjeong-dong.
