(Silverboy) Shaun,

His name was Richard, or "Richard Wei Wei" or just "Wei Wei".

My reply is as follows:

Richard is the correct English name and Wei Wei is the correct Chinese name of the rightfully accused recruiter. W.C.I.E.C. and Richard parted ways in the early part of October 2007.
As to what he actually told you I would have no way of knowing as we were employed in different capacities, he as a recruiter and I as a teacher. I rarely saw Richard after I began my employment with W.C.I.E.C. except at the office once a month to pick up my pay. If you read the posting you replied to, I state, You mention that they tried to recruit you in 2007. Those people have been let go. The staff is new. I moved in to my present position in 2008.
Richard cooked his own goose with W.C.I.E.C. That should give you some indication of how I feel about him personally. I also had his replacement dismissed in the spring of 2008. Before the dismissal took place, I had contact between that person and foreign teachers cut off. I would have dismissed that person immediately but I did not have the authority to do so at that time.
Since that time, I am responsible for hiring foreigners and dealing with whatever problems might arise during their employment with W.C.I.E.C.
I am by no means an ESL recruiter who recruits people for positions all over China.
I do not sell teachers for profit! I teach and have taught at every school where a foreign teacher might be placed here in Hengyang.
W.C.I.E.C. only deals with a handful of local public schools in Hengyang.
All teachers who are employed by W.C.I.E.C. are also paid by W.C.I.E.C.
All teachers are issued a valid Z visa, at no cost to the teacher.
A medical check up is covered at no cost to teacher
We have both single and shared housing at no cost to the teacher. (Teacher pays electric bill)
As I have stated publicly on this forum before, teachers normally make between 5,200RMB and 6,000RMB, there are exceptions!
Every teachers contract is different as far as working hours go. I have schools that only have 60classes. per month, schools that have 84 classes per month, etc.
Each position is negotiated separately, beforehand. If a teacher only wants to work 60 classes per month, I only have one school with this number of classes; I do not try to persuade them to take on additional hrs. I abide by the signed contract. Most of the schools that we deal with have somewhere between 80-100 classes per month.
As far as accommodation is concerned, this is negotiated before signing the contract. A couple might have different requirements than a single person. The former teachers apartments are no longer utilized as we have raised the standards of living and secured new lodgings.
So, now you ask yourself What is this guy getting, cause he aint doin it for free? You are right; Im not doing this only out of the kindness of my heart. By upping the standards, I reap the rewards as well. I, also respect people and treat one with respect, unless they give me a reason do so otherwise. I, being the principal of W.C.I.E.C. get a relatively small monthly amount for my duties at the training center other than teaching. I also receive 1,000 for every teacher I can get. Any teacher who recruits a teacher receives the same amount if you read the contract. I receive 500RMB upon arrival and the balance if the teacher stays and finishes their contract. So, now you say, Youre a liar, nobody would do it for that piddly amount If I was trying to make a living off foreign teachers, I couldnt even afford rice! W.C.I.E.C. never has had more than 5 foreigners since I have been with the company. I make a percentage off every Chinese student who attends the training center on the weekends. I am the only foreigner who works here! Gee, I wonder why? Since my appointment to principal, the school has increased in student body from 120 students to almost 400 students. The parents are satisfied with the Chinese English teachers and happy to tell their friends that their child attends a training school where the foreigner is not only the teacher but the principal as well. I can only hope that this sheds some light on W.C.I.E.C. topic.

Regards,
John

P.S. A friend told me about your posting or I would have responded earlier.
