Yes, being thick-skinned is essential for a happy existence in China if you are a foreigner. The more thick-skinned you are, the greater the likelihood is that you'll be able to put up with the trials and tribulations that will affect your daily life here.
But some posters clearly think you're thick-skinned enough to practice some bad aspects of Chinese culture such as skinning your fellow man. That's because you are doing what dodgy recruiters do here, namely receiving introduction fees for supplying foreign teachers to any old educational establishment requiring them. If you're hoping to convince such posters that you haven't been corrupted by taking money under such circumstances, you're deluding yourself.
The entire EFL industry here is so corrupt that anyone involved in it to the extent that you are has no chance of gaining the trust of the majority of foreign teachers acquainted with the bad things that can happen to foreign teachers here, including the poster Turnoi, whose skull is most probably not thick at all.
