You presume too much, Mr Turino. I too have been in China for a number of years and can tell you and whoever else may be interested, that it is not against the law in China to work part time for other parties than the one you are contracted to. If you have an exclusivity clause in your contract then as long as you perform the duties required of you by your contracted employer, the only reckoning is between you and the employer - and if you are performing your duties for him then whilst technically it is in breach of contract, he would have problems in winning in court because he will not have been cheated and the employee's free time is his own to spend how he wants. To win a Breach of Contract claim, the plaintiff usually has to demonstrate that he has suffered some tangible loss as a result of the breach. Do not jump on this with gusto please, I have seen this happen with an ex colleague of mine who was fired for working elsewhere but who took the matter to court and won. Moreover, for my last employer, I taught, for two years, six classes twice each week at two nearby primary schools under a contract between them and my employer to provide teaching services. This too is entirely legal.

Your comments also ignore the fact that thousands upon thousands of foreign teachers in China, work very properly for their employer but at weekends and summer camps etc, supplement their income by working part-time for other schools. Do you think the PSB are not aware of this? In another post you refer to the fact that you have been in China for more years than you can remember and I daresay that you too may have worked part-time for others during that time.

The subject of my initial posting was (and remains) the miserable offer posted by Big Lion - why don't you take a shot at them?
