Ah, yes, Perlandas; surely one of the more prominent plagues to infect EFL in China. Oddly, Fenny hasn't deemed it necessary to change her name yet. When she does so, it will only be the same virus with a different name. I disagree, however, that she and her cohorts primarily target those with low funds. Their favorite lure is the promise of high paying jobs in Shenzhen. When they've set the hook, and they're fairly certain you're willing to jump into their boat, they reveal that their terms include a hefty fee for their services. Moreover, they consider themselves masters at the old bait and switch maneuver. Unfortunately, the fact that they're still in business shows that not enough teachers have been inoculated against them. Too bad. If you're new to EFL in China, please realize that research is the best anti-viral medicine to protect yourself against these insidious miscreants that call themselves recruiters. They're about as useful as swine flu.
