Your speciously woven argument is easy to get, but flawed and, well, wrong. If you knew me better, you would know that I am far from a defender of charlatan schools or their leaders. You would also know me as one who warns others about using recruiters or their ilk. I'm also a student advocate, which often gets me in hot water with administrators. I'm also an outspoken advocate for FTs who haven't the gumption to stand up for their own rights. However, I'm not one to focus on only one aspect of an issue that is multifaceted. It may serve your purposes to do so, but not mine.

Imagine, if you will, a situation where you were asked to sit in on a panel that had as its stated purpose a revamping of the EFL situation in China. Would you limit yourself only to the question of the suitability of private training centers? I think not. In fact, I would imagine that you would rather bring your considerable linguistic expertise to the table and would be more appreciated for such input than you would be for constant rantings and juvenile expletives regarding said training centers. Were you to do that, you'd no doubt be asked to remove yourself and your pet crocs and find someplace where such rantings were more appropriate.

Well, perhaps you think this forum the best place for that. Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Personally, though, I'd rather lump the problems all together so that those who are less experienced with EFL in China can get the whole picture when they reach this site and browse through these forums looking for solid information. I'd also like to limit the number of totally inappropriate "teachers" that come here by making it clear that they, more often than not, contribute to the problem.

Finally, you like to call them "crap schools." Okay, rather juvenile, but descriptive; however, I like to call them scam schools. I think that's a little more definitive because it allows for the truth to be told that by working for such schools, those, that is, that are actually scam schools, you are a willing participant in the scam. Nevertheless, as soon as something goes wrong - pay issues, etc. said participants will start crying bloody murder. Can't you see the irony in that?
