I flew halfway around the world to teach English at University Center in Aqaba, Jordan. The Center is owned by two brothers named Ziad and Rashas Qassaymeh.

The work term was a one year contract, and I was supposed to earn 600 JD per month (about $1000) in addition to being provided with accomodation free of charge.

The following is my account of the events and working conditions at University Center in Aqaba.

* EXTREMELY DISORGANIZED AND UNPROFESSIONAL WORK ENVIRONMENT
* SALARY OFTEN PAID LATE BECAUSE THE OWNERS FORGOT IT WAS MY PAYDAY
* THEY COULD BARELY SCRAPE TOGETHER ENOUGH STUDENTS FOR ME TO TEACH TWO CLASSES
* I WAS FREQUENTLY REQUIRED TO PERFORM MENIAL WORK (IE. UNRELATED TO TEACHING) IN THE CENTER
* THEY CANCELLED MY CONTRACT AFTER 2.5 MONTHS
* WHEN I LEFT, THEY WITHHELD A SIGNIFICANT PORTION OF MY SALARY FOR 'TAX PURPOSES' AND SAID I COULD POSSIBLY RECLAIM IT LATER
* THEY IGNORED ALL OF MY SUBSEQUENT ATTEMPTS TO CONTACT THEM

My advice: don't work for these kniving weasels.
