looks like this is more common lately. hard to "watch out" for teachers as there's soo much to pay attention to and question before accepting the position or signing that often unpro and contradictory to chinese labor laws employment contracts.

now, not only the teachers but also some employers, in this case foreign as it looks, have troubles. foreign managements/employers increasingly face a tough competition and lots of issues way beyond control. needless to say how some local competitors try their best to disrepute a school/center across the street or how a gov official stands in front of the school's door to see to day to day operation going according to chinese standards, the local regulations are just sooo unfriendly to the ones that lease a space for the business. imagine that you rent a 300 sqm space, sing a contract for it and then bang, bang things go in a reverse. the landlord says there're changes in the plan of the building and so you've got either move out or pay more. by the way, have you guys seen some sample contracts of for leasing space in a commercial area? they often are crappy and even if you have a lawyer to adjust them, you'll have a real uphill battle there.

on the topic of this school and their swedish connection, i'd say there somewhere in scandinavia, we might have some of the answers we're looking for.

cheers and beers to no foreign business in this farce lawless country with some really farce approach to any contractual agreements
