There was a time when a foreign teacher could come into China, confident since they already had a Z visa (work visa) in hand. This particular college is similar to all out of the way colleges. They will not let you move to a better location (Shanghai is where I wanted to go, for instance) after a semester. This college will say it is okay to have your visa and go to another place after one semester and then do sneaky stuff like cancel it when you arrive in Shanghai. (Believe me after one semester, you will want to move on from this school!!!)

These particular people at this school start pretending like they do not understand English when you ask them reasonable questions. This is a common Chinese ploy. You find this in out of the way places. Be assured that Dalian is not a great place to be in the Winter time. It is extremely cold. The classrooms have little heat and the students wear coats.
