In response to Guangxi.. Liuzhou. (Engchina)

Absolutely, my situation parrallels yours in some ways but is not as bad. I am the last person to know what in the world is going on and I've just had it with some of the teachers that treat me like an idiot and a five year-old. In particular one teacher whenever she meets me always keeps complaining how much more money I make than her. She well knows that when you add all the teacher perks, not to mention the kids they tutor at their homes for 100 Yuan an hour, they make alot more than I do. Some teachers with BOTH new cars and motorcycles keep complaining about how much less they make than I. When I told one of the teachers how much she earned, she was stunned.
In the case of your language needs, your kids can fill you in on what is going on with school days. Have your kids also help you set up things and help you in other ways. In the end, you work more for the students than the teachers.
At my Senior Middle School I am a one man show in a school of 3,000. I would not give two kuai for most of the teachers, but I think in your school some are more than willing to help. Invite the teachers who do like you for some activities or go with them on some outings. You can develop a social group that will help you. I have developed my social group where I just ignore the teachers I can do without and associate more with the teachers that support me. I have about 5 teachers I enlisted to help me fight my battles with a few more in the works. China works around relationships. Try giving out some small gifts on holidays and the such to neutral teachers who will then feel to help you later. In China you cannot be so direct, so if you off the cuff mention something to one teacher who has befriended you than most likely he or she will say something.
