This "University" was my first job in China. It is located in Beijing, in a good location (Muxidi) on Subway line 1. It is a police and law school. The campus is beautiful, with great landscaping. The FAO office is great. Fun, friendly guys working there. I have not a bad thing to say about them.

The English department is a different matter. There was an old woman in charge named Wang Y[edited], who may have since retired. According to the FAO office, she had been running off FT's for years. They could not keep anyone for very long because of her personality. She was disliked by the Chinese teachers or so I was told. My first class was interrupted by her running into the class in a bewildered, frantic state saying "Are the students ok?, are the students ok?" I was flabbergasted. I thought she had lost her mind completely. There was absolutely no reason for this, except her deteriorated mental condition. But I said nothing.

At the final exam, I allowed a female student to take the test who had family problems and was absent more than usual. This caused a big problem with WY, who wanted me to fail her. I finally had enough and complained to the Dean and the FAO office. They all agreed with me, but said they could do nothing because she had been there since the dawn of time and was old. WY had a vendetta against me for the rest of my time there. So, I left for greener pastures.

There is also a remote campus where you have to take the bus for an hour. Crappy apartment.
