Well, that's typical of Yuming, Ed, to try and fob you off with shite-holes, or shockers, as you put it, before showing you something that appears to be reasonable. They have arranged a minimum of things for you, but you are the kiddy who must pay for them. Now prepare yourself to fork-out for all the utensils that'll break down, as sure as eggs is eggs. Yuming will have an arrangement with the landlord to scoop it out of your pay before you get it.

When you leave the flat the landlord will grumble about all the damage you haven't done, but worry not, good old altruistic Yuming will oblige with a bit more scooping should the held deposit not be enough to cover the unreasonable wear and tear.

All this scooping and paying, together with the fact you'll only be working for a few months this year should amount to you having to finance this Yuming experience yourself. You should leave now and cut your losses.
