I have been working at Extreme English for more than 2 years. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience. The building is nice, the classrooms are small and classes average about 8 to 9 students per group. I have had groups as small as 4 and as big as 13. The front office has a Peruvian manager who takes care of things like photo copies, pay, books, etc... About every 6 months, there is a change in the teacher coordinator, who runs the daily operations. The owner works as the overall director, but he is only on-site about 10 to 15 hours per week. I know he also is the director of the language center at a university that has a contract with Extreme. He travels a lot as well, as he often mentions expansion and international TEFL courses. I believe there is a plan to expand into other Peruvian cities in 2011. Anyway, the students are usually good, the facilities are fine, the office manager and teacher coordinator are at the school from 7AM to 9PM, so things run fine. Living and working in Peru is not like back home, but it has been a very good experience. I would recommend working at Extreme and living in Arequipa. The pay is good and the cost of living is low.
