I'll agree with everything you wrote about the apartment. Simply impossible to keep clean, an uphill struggle, and the damned noise from that road, hell!

Agree that ZS doesn't have a bad environment as Chinese cities go, and tbh I'm not much of a bar guy anymore, I like beers, but that doesn't always mean having to go to bars, but if you want to meet girls and feel lonely, it's ok once in a while. I found the nightlife in China to always be dissapointing by western standards anyway, so ZS is no better or worse than other cities.
