LTC has an extremely laid-back approach to management..if the term management is not too much of an overstatement. One is infused with the sense that it is an incredibly complex mechanism, with parts whose origins and functions are perhaps known to someone, somewhere; a machine that operates without anyone really knowing how or why. Sort of like a play that is put together in a real hurry, with insufficient rehearsal time or forethought, and yet on the night it somehow goes alright. Well the similie is at least true until the opening night part...where in truth the performance mirrors appropriately the preperation. It is a bewildering, comical and frustrating place to work. Be warned applicants! A particular professional type will leave LTC with huge bald patches where they have forcibly removed great tufts of their own hair with their tightly clenched fists. A laid-back and good mannered type will certainly enjoy the life in Beihai, and learn quickly to forgo hopes of a supportive work environment within which a true career TEFL teacher may grow and flourish. Come for the lifestyle and easy workload. Leave for the apathetic and tight-fisted approach to management.
