Is the person replying to this statement Chinese?? I can't imagine any foreigner using inverted commas like that to talk about somebody having individual character. It's rather ironic and very charactaristic of Chinese poeple to reference other people in order to get basic points of view across, because they're too insecure to make their own statements and have to back them up.
I've been here in China for several years now, and I would definitely encourage all foreigners to check out future employers as much as possible, because they WILL try to take advantage of you. You might think I'm exaggerating, but spend a few years here like me, and you won't think so.

It's not such a terrible place to work, just don't be naive and if you see that your employer has negative reviews by others foreigners, BELIEVE THEM. A fellow traveller has no reason to give a bad review or blacklist someone unless they have been treated unfairly, and it happens quite often. Don't be fooled by companies who hire their token white guy to recruit other foreigners. Don't be fooled like I was (thinking "they can't be too bad!") Bottom line: if the company/ agency has bad reviews, steer well clear! Don't say you weren't warned by someone in the know!
