I have FIRSTHAND knowledge about how HAMPSON operates. No one will reveal who the owner of the school is. Hampson is not even accredited to operate in Shenzhen they ARE NOT licensed. Look at the plaques on the walls or ask them to show their Shenzhen license THEY CANT, BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ONE!

HAMPSON IS A PYRAMID SCHEME DESIGNED TO SCREW 2 ENTITIES - THE STUDENTS AND THE TEACHERS!

And here is how it works:
#1 they let anyone work there. They dont check out credentials or experience or education background. You could be a Child Molester for all they care. The biggest qualification is that you HAVE A PULSE. I have personally seen them sign ridiculous contracts with people that look like they just came out of a homeless shelter. Ripped, stained and smelly tee shirts and shorts and sneakers are the dress code. They promise the teacher he or she will make 20,000 RMB a month the truth is that if you are not one of the very few Favorite teachers that usually have personal relationships with the staff, you very rarely make over 6000 RMB and that is with working ridiculous hours and nights and weekends. They are the lowest paying school in China. They always take money each month for some kind of a deposit, but promise that you will get all your money back if you leave the school YOU WILL NOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK!. They basically steal money right from the beginning. They call you 30 minutes before a class and tell you to come in to do it. They will also wait for you to come in (no matter how far you had to travel) and tell you the class was cancelled. They will tell you that you wont be paid for the class even though it states so in your contract that you will be paid (a contract means nothing at Hampson it is only designed to benefit them and not the employee). When a teacher shows them that in the contract it clearly states they must be paid for a cancellation, they then tell you that the student cancelled 6 1/2 hours prior and so gave ample time. When the teacher asks them why they waited to inform them about it they start to pretend they dont understand English well enough and then start talking some ridiculous dialect of Chinese. A REAL SCAM! If you understand Mandarin. They just switch to some other form of Chinese gibberish such as Cantonese

#2 you bring your kid there and you fork over more than 20,000 RMB for about (70) (50 minute) lessons. They pick one of their best looking teachers to do a Demo in a glass room like an actor. They tell you how this teacher will teach your kid and how this teacher has all the credentials and experience. They trick you into impulsively signing a contract by telling you that if you sign today, they will give you 4 free bonus lessons and then they VERBALLY promise you that the smart looking, well dressed teacher that your son or daughter just Demod with will be their PERSONAL instructor. Once they get your CASH they are finished with you and go on to another VICTIM. If they want their money back they automatically lose approximately 1/3 of all the money they paid up front and so feel compelled to continue with HAMPSTER even though their child may be being taught by someone that does not even have a High School Diploma. The people that work at Hampson make their money by signing students and so if they do not meet a quota system they are let go by HAMPSTER. After you pay anyone or anything can be assigned to teach your kid. I have witnessed firsthand some teachers eating McDonalds while they let a student play computer games on one of the many computers they have set up that are supposed to be for lessons only. They also take their students out to a restaurant and try and have they paid for their meal while they are supposed to e teaching them English. When HAMPSTER is questioned about it they say, The students parents wanted the teacher to take the student out into a real life experience lololololhahaahahahhahahhahah. The offices they use for lessons are usually infested with cockroaches that thrive there because there are uneaten food and cigarette butts all over the place. The bathrooms are also very filthy. I cannot prove it but I think I have even heard teachers having sex with some of the women students behind locked doors.

#3 once Hampson takes your money they could care less about you. You are a liability at that point and they really dont care if you come back and they really are happy if you dont come or cancel a lesson because Hampson will still deduct it from your remaining lessons. Thats right if you dont show or even if you call off a lesson they will deduct it from your lesson bank I have personally seen them rip off students and teachers alike in this way. When you finally discover that you have been cheated and want your money back they show you the penalty in the contract which plainly states (in small print) that you will immediately lose 30% plus administrative fees. The penalty is usually about 6500 RMB and so you just cave in and continue to send your kid there regardless of who (or what) teaches the kid. You just hope that your kid will get one of the 2 somewhat qualified teachers out of the 100 unqualified teachers. They hope you dont come back for lessons because then they will have to pay the teachers. The teachers do not get paid unless the students show up. There are usually anywhere from 90 to 100 teachers at their disposal and they continuously sign new teachers and trick them into believing that the magic figure of 20,000 RMB per month is obtainable but they always say wait till next month you will make it!!! Before they know it, the teacher has been there for a year and so cannot go to another school to because if they mention HAMPSTER, a legitimate school will not want them. Actually if you put Hampson on your resume as experience another legitimate school WILL NOT hire you. If you want a good teacher you should just go to Wall Street English or English first they are infinitely more legitimate schools than HAMPSTER will ever be!!!!!

#4 - They give their teachers phantom schedules and change their schedules at least 2 or 3 times PER DAY so the teachers cannot plan their off time nor can they work somewhere else. Before the instructor knows it the 30 hours he had on his or her schedule is actually 10 12 hours due to continuous cancellations and there is nothing they can do about it. The place does not care and if the instructor asks about it too many times they actually punish the instructor until the instructor has no choice but to leave. They will call you to come in on your off time to do Demos to get them more students - more innocent victims. Meanwhile all the Demo students that the instructor helps the school get are given to the other teachers the ones with the personal relationships in the office. I have personally seen this and its insidious the way they go about it. Both the student and the instructor are regarded as a piece of meat.
They are Rip off Artists at HAMPSTER. BE VERY CAREFUL OF EITHER WORKING FOR THEM OR BRINGING YOUR KID THERE TO LEARN. The best way to describe the place is like its going to a used car lot. It is the same feeling and like a used car lot, it is designed to screw two entities the customer and the sales person. Just like a used car lot the owners, flood the floor with sales people (in this case teachers). No qualifications are necessary just show up when when and if you are called thats all.

DO NOT BRING YOUR KID THERE TO LEARN they are the most insidious people because they affect the future of the students by ensuring that they DO NOT get a proper education!
