Come to think of it, you're probably right. My writings here about China's flirtation with fascism was motivated in part by the response in my school to the Earthquake in Japan, with students asking me what I thought, and then gloating at it. It further infuriates me that this is state sponsored. I guess I have been emotive, because one thing I despise about this country is the abject lack of respect for those who are not Chinese.
So I guess I was guilty of violating my own maxim, and therefore, rational debate unobscured by emotive issues is a difficult thing to achieve.
