I have read a number of negative comments about Lambton College at Jiangnan University, and I think they deserve a response. I have taught there for 2.5 years and can say that my experience has been very positive. I don't love everyone and I don't like everything I have seen, but the bottom line is I very much enjoy teaching there. I went there with over a dozen year's experience teaching at American colleges and can honestly say that most of the criticisms I have read do not match my experience. I can't speak to what went on before I arrived, but I can say that like every school I have worked at this one has some bad students and administrative annoyances. But Lambton College also has some very good students, and unlike some places in China and America the school administration has been supportive and backed me up when unhappy students raised questions. Relative to other schools in China the pay is good and prompt. And the provided housing is quite nice. In other words, I am not sure where the rants have come from, but in my experience they are not justified. Lambton College is good place to teach, and Wuxi is a pleasant, easy-going city to live in.
