Thanks for the advice. I have had a couple of schools/recruiters get in touch, and they've really been interested, and then somehow it seems that they didn't read my CV and realise that I was still in England and looking to come over there. All of a sudden they just cut contact, which I thought went against the "friendliness" and "politeness" of the Chinese people. One did say though that it would be easier for them to go with teachers already in China. It's a catch 22.

Also, not sure how to approach this without causing controversy, I have a mate who is English/British and black. I was gonna try and persuade him to come out and teach also, but I've heard it might be harder for him to get a job. What's the score with that?
