Be very wary of individuals whether Chinese or expat who want to micro-manage your teaching. It will not only be soul-destroying but will zap your energy and enthusiasm.

Agreed. Although I feel this mostly relates to the private and training centre sector, I also feel it is becoming more prevalent in the public sector.

I am still in an ongoing month to month uphill struggle with my FAO, who still takes it on himself to interfere in my teaching, make unannounced observations,ignore my emails, orders me to leave my local xiao ling tong on 24/7 (I refuse!!!!) and basically make my life a living hell. I have basically come to terms with it on the grounds that he simply hates foreigners, or feels threatened by me, either way, I won't let the school door hit me on the way out when I leave this summer.
