Chinese people think only a white American, Australian, Englishman, or a Canadian can really teach English. Remember we are talking about Chinese people in education here, and their intelligence level ( rather lack thereof) is legendary!

So-called educated Chinese still have a lot to learn in order to acquire the knowledge and skills to enable them to assess classroom teaching and foreign teachers' accents properly. In the meantime, each foreign teacher in China runs the risk of being unfairly discriminated against because of his/her ethnic background, country of origin and English accent.
