May I respond briefly to her post. She has found my comment on tattoos rather insulting but she does not realize when she stands in front of the class to teach, her tattoos can be more of a distraction to her students. In a society like China, which is more conservative than Britain, parents frown upon children having tattoos on their bodies, and, what’s more, seeing their children’s teachers with tattoos as not role models. Teachers can influence their tutelage for good or bad. We know children can easily imitate their teachers.

EF has accepted her tattoos and made her a teacher, but there may be Chinese students who may find her weird that she should have so many tattoos (of course, out of politeness, they may say pleasant things about her tattoos).

I don’t know how she can find my comments as “hate-filled.” I feel so sorry for her instead.
