And you're right about Shenyang, a better city than Changchun, though the latter is ok. I suspect that your former employer doesn't treat foreigners equally, namely those that disappoint their destination schools will be treated very badly.
They're one of the crappiest agents in China, and should be shunned by all foreigners. But the trouble is that there will always be foreigners with inferior academic qualifications who will end up as fodder for said agent, to be used and abused.
