Are you seriously suggesting that because I work at EF, I only know teachers from EF? That's crazy! I have plenty of friends who work at different places; Other private schools, some at public and some at university! It's not like a meet somebody and then refuse to speak to them upon finding out they don't work for EF! How ludicrous!
I know many FT's who are under-qualified and who work hard and do a good job. I just don't think they do as good a job as somebody who is trained to teach and trained in classroom management. Point proven to me by the fact so many of my friends who don't have the same qualifications or experience quite often ask me to help them with lesson planning, activity ideas and ways to teach certain structures.

However, I do think that anybody who is teaching ANYTHING should at least have an entry level qualification in the subject. In the case of ESL a full TEFL being the minimum. In an ideal world I'd like to see a language degree also.

I wouldn't 'kick any body out on their ear' either, I just wouldn't have hired them in the first place unless they're qualified to teach! I'm really not sure why you think it's OK to be in education without being qualified to educate!?

I can only go by what you tell me, London Girl- trouble is you do like to change it, like milk churns around a dairy. 'Twas you that was bragging about slaving away over your craft table all evening, preparing games of all things(really need your language degree for that) for your much-loved students. And you went on to say that while I'm out climbing mountains, you are at the same grindstone of a weekend. NOW you tell us you get out and about and deign to speak with inferior FT's, the ones without language degrees. I've heard from your own pen that EF treats you well and meets all your needs....it seems your flat has also come complete with a time machine! Or are you a sort of English superwoman?

However, I see you have offered me a bone

"I know many FT's who are under-qualified and who work hard and do a good job
" We will get there LG, I will save you. Praise the Lord, we have a possible convert on our hands.....who knows where this will lead...one day you could be sitting hand in hand with SB, giggling.
