1. There are holidays in China now, and the new semester will start by the end of August/beginning of September. People there also from the administration are in holidays, so you may not be able to reach them - neither by phone nor by email.
2. What did they send you prior to your departure for China? Do you have a Z visa?
3. Why did you arrive so early? The end of August would have been early enough.
4. Why don't you go to their address and ask the administration to help you? They are supposed to to provide you with a free expert apartment, so you can check out of the hotel to save expenses.
5. There have been indeed many complaints about them, and the administration is corrupt, incompetent and evil. Don't give up and return, talk to other schools and see if you can go there! I personally would not even consider working for them after reading about all the stuff about them on here. Now it is too late, and I suggest you try what I have said above.

1. I understood their on summer vacation and she gave me her cell phone number if I have any problems when I arrive in mid August.

2. She said she will apply my Z visa in August after I arrive. At present I have an L visa paid for from this college, I had to pay for my own airfare here.

3. She was aware that I will arrive in mid August because I wanted to get the feel for China prior to working. I was told Im to be here by September 3rd, 2012

4. I went to their campus, its way out in the country away from the city but nobody was of assistance. Some students did show me around though.

5. I have read all the previous messages on here and another website about GDOU Guangdong Ocean University and wasnt awarw their both the same colleges until I read on. This whole idea worries me now. Guangdong Ocean University doesnt appear to have a good reputation.

The citys name is Zhanjiang and it isnt a pretty city by no means. I guess thats why the college is situated away from the city
