Can I just confirm though, that this is not Nanshan Bilingual School in Yantai? Where was your school based?

I volunteered (mainly because I did not have experience/qualifications and I only wanted to teach for a year and did not want to invest in a lot of money for qualifications that I would only use for a year) at the school in Longkou, Yantai and they were helpful, friendly etc and I had an amazing experience. In exchange for the volunteering I had free accommodation (though basic, I settled in and loved my apartment), and free food and a monthly allowance so I was able to live fairly comfortably.
