First, the surrogate DoS - is amazing. Super supportive and super friendly. The same can be said for the other teachers. A great bunch of people.
But that is where it ends.
Like most schools, this is a business and business comes first.
Don't plan to have a social life or get around Italy much as they will chop and change your schedule on a weekly basis.
You have no option. Move a class? Tough. Give you another teacher's student because that student couldn't be arsed to come in when they were scheduled? No problem.
It shows a complete lack of professional courtesy to the teachers.

But worse....

The school is run by two people. The woman (I won't mention names) is ok, but she barely speaks a word of English and likes to use intimidation to get the teachers to do what she wants.
The other guy runs the financial side.
He also has a property company.

HE WILL FORCE YOU TO LIVE IN ONE OF HIS APARTMENTS AND MAKE YOU PAY RENT.
If you don't like it, you don't get the job.

THE APARTMENTS ARE NOT "WELL FURNISHED" AND ARE NOT CLEAN.
A few of the other teachers have mould in their rooms, and have been complaining for months with no success. My room is above a supermarket delivery outlet so I am woken up at 05:30 six days a week. The heating is controlled by the landlord and not the teachers. There isn't even an oven as it would cost the landlord too much to pay the electricity.

HE HAS NO RESPECT FOR THE LAW OR THE TEACHERS
He blatantly ignores the fact that, by law, he must tell you when he is coming around to view the apartment. The other day, he came around and just walked into a (female) teacher's room without even the courtesy of a knock.

The staff at the school are let down by the managers - a common story.
Don't get trapped by the advertisement for this school.
They are liars, cheaters and thieves.
Don't get fooled by a beautiful lake - there are much better schools in Italy.
