Bit of a stereotype don't you think? I knew several bald and fat Western men in their fifties in China who had pretty 21 and 22 y/o Chinese GF's. And no, not all of them were rich, two of them had no money except their teaching money. I also still know a poor and fat 61 y/o USA guy with a slim and pretty 31 y/o Chinese wife. In their case I think it is/was their sexual prowess that held those relationships together. Obviously, most of the local Chinese men could not compete with them in regard to bedroom sports!
