I loath and detest mobile phones. I am outgoing and like to strike up conversations with strangers on a train-alas no need to chat with strangers these days because one has ones chums on the other end of ones self-indulgent lump of plastic. The good thing about the Chinese is that they at least will still chat with strangers- also a good way to improve ones Mandarin.
