The British Embassy in Oman have updated their Website and have strongly advised that no one should enter the country on Tourist visas with the idea of working.Visas and work contracts should be bonified and be obtained before entering. The Authorities and Ministry of Manpower do not approve of working on Tourist visas, and tourist visas are not transferable to work visas. The British Embassy updated their website today and are strongly advising against coming to Oman to work on tourist visas, and for companies that do not have the Ministry of Manpower approval to employee foreign nationals.
