I remember a poster from some time ago who used to post here with a lot of quoted from French on here, Is that perhaps you? There are many native Flemish (Dutch) speaking people in the West of Belgium who also speak French quite well. The kind of French spoken in the eastern part of Belgium is known as "Wallon", and it differs significantly in some respect from Standard French. For example, for "80" in Wallon they would say "octante" in lieu of "quatre-vingt" (literally "4 times twenty") in Standard French. The latter most likely is a relic or influence from some Germanic or Celtic language spoken in the area in former times before the Romans came there bringing Vulgar Latin with them, from which in turn Modern French developed.

Not me-It only recently tickled my fancy to do so. I thought it was fairly innocent and it would not have continued but for another poster(not you) who decided to make a thing about nothing hahaha- not that i blame him, for having a go at me- it's all good fun. Anyway, you intervened, did you not-and had your say? I even quoted some German-don't know where that post is- however, don't debate that language with me because i don't speak a word of it-merely fooling about.
