Fact - 2013-09-16

I am based as a project manager in Malaysia and I have recently noticed the British Council project manager has taken out an advert stating Mentors needed for ESL project Malaysia January 2014.

This advert is misleading as the British Council has only been given a tentative nod of approval for this contract and not full approval till such time the Malaysian government can confirm they can even finance the project?

It is wrong to entice applications for a job that cannot be confirmed as approved and available, I would never mislead applicants in this way. If anyone applies for this job with the belief they are applying for a secure job, the fact is that at this moment their time and expectations are wasted and mislead.

The British council are always claiming they are a fair equal opportunities employer and yet their project manager is behaving in a way that is deception, making claims and promises which their advertising cannot support with any reality.

I suggest ignoring this advert till such time that the British Council can honestly state that they have been awarded the contract. If you as an applicant have already been mislead you are at liberty to report the British Council and the project manager to the Charities registration commission based in England, this can be found through a simple web search.
