After careful research, I began working for Jacky Tan, owner of ESL Shanghai Schools, more than five years ago. I wanted a very long-term position with a chance for growth and to work for an honest school that wouldn't find creative ways not to pay me.
At that time we had 4 schools and 2 teachers which has blossomed into over 50 schools and more than 60 teachers with a total of 15,000 students!
We began with the standard English textbooks (garbage) and decided to develop our own textbooks. We now have a full set of primary grade, government approved, phonics based textbooks complete with CD's, tapes, flashcards and lesson plans.
Happily, I am now Foreign Director of the largest legal school in Shanghai. We also own and operate a primary boarding school and teach in public schools.
