Fred - It would be interesting to know what actions you have taken to expose them other than posting the information you have provided here. That is, have you notified the authorities in Indonesia?

Of course the easy answer to most of your questions is that they know which palms to grease and whose pockets to pad. EF has a pretty bad reputation here in PR China as well. If you check the archives, you'll be surprised at what they can get away with it.

EF like many other chain schools throughout Asia are deeply embedded in a business that has become increasingly dishonest. The head offices are acutely aware of the problems (how could they not be) and yet they continue to recruit unsuspecting teachers. And, as you've pointed out, their affiliates continue hiring unqualified teachers and/or teachers, such as those from the Phillipines to whom they can give lower salaries.

Sadly, in China, there seems to be little one can do about such practices. But I'm curious to know what, if anything, can be done in Indonesia. Keep us posted please.
