Oh dear, oh dear. There are some good teachers in this school. But as you say the principle is a a bit dense and not only round the middle.
He is completely unaware of what's going on in the school if he doesn't get his picture taken and published. There is a local competition run by the business community and they award the 'CEO' of a company/ school whatever 10000 RMB for the 'Business of the Year', Mr C
Was majorly P*****off when the principle of SCIE got it. So he has decided to focus on his profile in the community, and has sent out to Chinese parents on We chat the biggest load of BS ever. How he taught Nelson Mandela's and Desmond Tutu's kids ( personally I wouldn't be boasting about the last one too much). Whilst doing this he has recruited unqualified teachers to teach science. Not only can the guy not teach, but he was so busy running his business on the computer that he didn't notice a SEN student pour acid over a girls head. A very weak solution granted. So what does he do, he promotes the teacher cause he's a snitch!!

Next MrC makes the English dept responsible for a student (PGCE). This guy had serious issues and the HOD approached MrC, the HOD was told to ignore the fact that the student was following female students home and watching the in the quad each day, couldn't teach, refused to follow instructions and finally took a 13 year old student to a bar until 10.30 pm. The reason why MrC refused to get rid of him, because he was the son of a business(freebies) friend in HK. So Mr C would lose face!. I wonder how much he got under the counter for that?
This was one of the reasons the HOD left. MrC also gives crap references so teachers find it difficult to move on. One teacher applied for 70 posts before he cottoned on to this.
To be fair the teachers work pretty well and get good results. The management is pretty crappy as MrC keeps threatening to sack staff if they don't ass kiss. Two year turn around for younger staff with promise, other crappy younger staff who would find it difficult to get decent jobs stay.
