To be fair on Lou, schools bring teachers over on non working VISA is the norm, as it is easier to get a work visa once in China than from out side the country. As for the work and pay, this is something you really don't find out until you get to the City and you start to talk to other schools here and teachers. I know that when I first came to Hohhot 3 years ago I thought that pay and the hours were very reasonable. it was only after that I saw, teachers in EF do put in around 10 more hours than teachers at other schools with about 1500RMB short of starting pay. But there are other things in the contract that tend to buff this up and are not part of your payable hours, the biggest is marketing activities, that last from 3-9 hours long, but don't count as your hour that you are teaching. While in they are in the contract, they are very vague about that they are.

I will say this, as a school EF hohhot is not that bad, but there are a few people in it, which Lou already said, make the school shit and are driving it in to the ground. It is not the same school that i came to 3 years ago. which makes me sad.
