Oh you have no idea. The guy thinks he's the Nikola Tesla of the ESL world.

We have guy who did privates and worked at Meten English. He married his 22 year old student (I think it was a business arrangement. He's 41/42) and thought to himself "how can I get involved in this oversaturated market?" He isn't exactly innovative... moreso thrifty and deluded. This was the first place I've ever worked where no books were used. We had a messy notebook filled with worksheets he threw together and used for his private lessons. None of them were ever in order either. I ended up having to use my own stuff the majority of the time. There were so many typos on his stuff, he couldn't have spent more than 10 minutes on them. No media. No resources. Nothing. Your laptop and Google are your best friends. He's also anti-game. So imagine a class with no games, books, etc. My heart goes out to the kids and the parents throwing their money away. He has a very high opinion of himself, to boot and he hasn't realized yet that no one else shares this view on him and his teaching. He waltzes in 5-10 mintes before the start of a class and jotted his "lesson plans" down on a piece of scrap paper or an old envelope. After I left he proceeds to say that I'm an "okay teacher by Shenzhen standards." I thought to myself #1 you're a tool and #2 that says a lot about your centers' standards, doesn't it? Hiring teachers that are merely "okay". Did I mention that he NEVER observed me or had given me feedback on my teaching? He loves blackboards and is totally against whiteboards for some unknown reason. I'm convinced he still uses an abacus. The classes I was supposed to teach with no curriculum developed for it was especially fun. Man, one thing I can say is that I will not make this mistake ever again.

Even their logo is pretty lame.
