I have also taught in the international high school, and I completely disagree with everything you have said. This school is very unprofessional and is mainly a business. That is why the school lost the Victorian program, and now the Queensland program. The high school students are very average, and some of their English abilities are not even as high as primary school students at true international schools or in Australia. The students are just paying copious amounts of money to the school as a way to buy their way into Canadian or Australian schools. They do not have any actual academic abilities. Furthermore, the school is very disorganized and dishonest in its dealings with its foreign teachers. The school does not respect teachers' personal schedules and frequently asks teachers to come to school on breaks. The administration notifies the teachers last minute about schedule changes, and when teachers cannot comply with these last minute changes, the teachers are blamed for being disobedient. The on-campus dorms for foreigners are terrible. They are covered with mold and random insects. There have been mosquitoes, lizards, spiders, and cockroaches found in the rooms, especially on the first and second floors. A few teachers and even a couple's child found themselves with respiratory problems because of the mold and lack of functional heating during the winter. The school is not willing to spend any money on improving the air-conditioning and dorm quality. Yet, it is making a fortune off of its Canadian and Australian programs. If you can deal with an extremely disorganized and unethical administration, moldy and insect-infected living accommodation, and incompetent spoiled students, then this is the perfect school for you.
