It's such a pity! I saw this coming, the students pay a lot of money to the middle schools, most of which are state schools! For instance, in Yuan Qu middle school every student had to pay an extra 180 yuan for foreign class each semester, and so the students always thought I got a very high pay, but it was barely 6000 Yuan for 30 classes a week plus an old apartment. Maybe some parents have realized that the oral English class cash cow needs to be stopped, and have therefore complained to the Yuncheng education board about having to pay so much as an extra cost for their children's oral English education, resulting in the board disallowing schools to bill parents separately for it from next semester.

Someone's been making too much money out of it. But I don't think the agents have been doing so! It's the schools themselves who have been milking the parents!

By the way, I'm told EV is in the same boat as IELTS in this respect.
