I work at this school. There are four Saturdays on the calendar, one each quarter, on which we work three hours only if they are not canceled entirely. It has been this way for years. We also have a very generous calendar that leads to the need for the Saturdays, we are given three weeks at winter break and school doesn't begin until the first week of September, this is when staff are due back in the country. At least two weeks later than all other American schools in the country. We also never had after school meetings until this year, when we are now required to stay 45 minutes once a week only. Our work hours are only until 2:30, so when staying after it is still only until 3:15.

GBS was investigated by CIS due to this posters complaints and received official notification from them that the school was exonerated from any wrong doing during the self-study/accreditation process. They found that the complaint stemmed from a disgruntled employee. All self-study documents were reviewed from the beginning of the process to the end and most employees spoken to personally and privately and confidentially including all those who served on self-study committees. Again the school was cleared of any wrong doing and in fact was awarded a well deserved full accreditation status last year.

As with any school, the self study process has led to several areas of school improvement and several recommendations by the visiting team but none of the comments made by this poster or the other responders to it were in the team visitors' final report - because they were all untruths.

I hope that those making these slanderous remarks are able to get over the real reasons they are making these posts and stop slandering those who work so hard at GBS to provide the educational program that they do. As a teacher at the school, I am offended beyond words.
