Ok I put it to Turnoi to tell us what is acceptable pay then for a training center. You said they pay peanuts I agree. It is also way too little to do anything with in your own country. However, tons of young people are ending up in this training center industry every year, and they go there for mixed reasons, partying, saving money, teaching experience, nothing better to do, or cultural experience.

Your right apartments are an industry standard, but lets not talk like they are a right. You deserve an apartment, keep your expectations low and get over yourself if you think it is going to be the same as what you lived in in your home country. That said don't accept crap. Should be a living area, a bathroom, a bedroom, furniture for all these rooms, appliances for cooking, but lets not kid ourselves most foreigners don't cook at home, but they should have appliances anyway. Key*** It should be near the school. What else are we missing.

I am creating a hypothetical English training center called, Turnoi English, in which Turnoi is the boss. What should be the salary? Who are we hiring newbies fresh off the boat, or guys that have been teaching in China for years and teaching kids for that matter. Lets keep that in mind when we make up this salary.

Whats the bonus and flight reimbursement are they the same?

What is the schedule? How many hours a week? How many days off a week?

Talk about holidays?

Talk about anything.

I want fair treatment for teachers, but it seems no matter what we propose to Turnoi Training centers are horrible and take advantage of foreigners.

They are essential in the Chinese job market for teachers as they account for so many of the jobs. I wish someone could give me a stat on that.

Turnoi needs to accept Training centers aren't going anywhere, so I challenge him to tell us what is appropriate for teachers. If he does that we can hammer out the numbers and see if that school would be profitable. It has to be profitable whether your like it or not, otherwise there wouldn't be training schools.

If I could I would pay every foreign teacher 60,000 USD a year two days off a week, month off in summer if not the whole summer, and single apartment suites with a living room, dining room, study, bedroom, guest bedroom, and two bathrooms, oh yea and kitchen for each teacher. I would also have a pension for teachers. However since I am unable to reverse the simple rules of mathematics in our universe at this time, I can't change basic accounting and economic principles either. I could Jack tuition 5 fold or more, but I don't think I would have any students lining up to get English lessons from Joe America who graduated from No name liberal college with a degree in general arts. If we are lucky.

WHAT WOULD CONSTITUTE A GOOD SCHOOL AND GOOD CONTRACT THAT COULD STAND UP TO ALL THE SCRUTINY OF THESE FORUMS.
I AM ASKING FOR NUMBERS NOT JUST YOUR OPINION.
Let's here it guys!!!!!
