The ELS Language Centers is a well know worldwide chain. They have almost 50 schools in the U.S., and 23 branches worldwide.

Nonetheless, I would avoid against the "branch" school in Tianjin,China. I say "branch', because a former Director of this school told me that Tianjin has not paid franchise fees in over 4 years! Still ELS,USA allows this as to keep a presence in the China market...

Reasons to avoid this school are, that the local management is unethical. They will hire foreign teachers a SOMETIMES they will provide a work permit.
Sometimes you will have a contract. It they do provide a work permit ,they will offer to "hold it" for you. (So you can't leave easily)

Durning peak seasons,holidays an public school mbreaks you will be assigned x-tra hours, and may NEVER be paid for them...

But wost of all, is that the housing the school provides may be substandard at best... Especially for new teachers... I had an apartment that looked like Tyler Durden's house in"FIGHT CLUB"...I'm NOT kidding.

TIanjin can be a wonder place for Western foreigners who want to mexperience China...But, not at ELS Tianjin.
