That is very true and also applies to the online resumes submitted on this site.

For security reasons, I would recommend just to describe briefly your own academic and professional profile and to provide an email address where a prospective employer may be able to contact you. You should have an electronic application package (in PDF file format, for example) ready with scanned copies of your resume, diplomas, references, and a copy of your passport. However, never send this out to anyone you do not know unless you have verified the address of the prospective employer.

Never send your personal details to someone with a "no name" email address like yahoo.com.

Risking identity theft these days in the internet is a common trap that has been especially prepared for you.
