Start Your Own School

Starting a non profit school in slum area need funding (Andhra Pradesh, India)

Date: 15 September 2016

I am Ravi Sankar from Vijayawada town in Andhra Pradesh. I am a post graduate in Mathematics and Economics and completed my Batchlors degree in education. I am in the education field from the last 22 years in which 6 years was as a principal of a school.

Now a days in our town many developmental activities are going on as this has become the capital of new Andhra Pradesh.

As a result many families who are residing in slums and on the banks of river Krishna illegally are evacuated and shifted to a near by village called Jakkampudi where the government constructed two housing colonies.

I am planning to start a new school which runs not for profits but for giving proper education to the students in this area which will be helpful to these people.

Me and my friend surveyed these colonies and were surprised to see that there are only two primary private schools and one govt u.p school for those many people and we also observed that many of the kids were not going to the schools and instead roaming on the roads.

The main cause for this is that those parents are daily labourers and they didnot have enough money to send their children to schools by paying huge feeses.

I thought over it and searched the net for a solution which resulted in finding this address.

I would like to start a school which trains the students in that area not only academically but in a way that they can get alround development.

I contacted an elderly person who has lots of land in that area and he agreed to lend us 800 yards of his land which is nearer to the above said locality and suitable for starting a school.

now we are looking for people who can give us a helping hand in construction of the school, initially a shed which has around 12 rooms.

The land owner himself came forward to fix the water source by digging a bore.

If any of you can help us in any way we will be able to take the project furthur.

Regards,

G.S.Ravi Sankar.
