Toy Story is a favorite Disney Pixar animated feature film among children of all ages. The story centers around a group on toys belonging to a young boy, called Andy, and is mainly focused around a pull-string cowboy called Woody and astronaut action figure Buzz Lightyear, space ranger.

The plot of the Toy Story movie, released in 1995, deals with many themes that children can relate to and deal with in their lives.

Transition and change is a primary theme in Toy Story. On Andy's birthday, he receives the latest and greatest new toy - a Buzz Lightyear space ranger action figure. Woody and Andy's toys have to deal with this new arrival and the change in relationships that this has on their group. Woody's biggest fear is that now he won't be Andy's favorite toy and he won't be wanted and loved anymore.

Issues that Andy's toys have to deal with throughout the movie include rejection, fear, jealousy, favoritism and friendship. Woody feels rejected and becomes jealous that Buzz Lightyear is now Andy's preferred toy.

Friendship is another main theme that the Toy Story plot features. Throughout their adventures together and despite Woody's jealously of Buzz Lightyear, they both establish a bond and close friendship in their time of trouble. They put aside their differences and look out for each other in friendship and comradery.

Toy Story is not only an entertaining movie for children of all ages, but it also offers lessons regarding important issues that children face in their day to day lives.
