Modern Fable: The Small & Big Monkey
By:Robin Day B.Sc. M.Sc. B.Ed. <cowboy4444@hotmail.com>

A small monkey found a single little orange in a tree. But a big monkey had been watching him and he came over, plopped down and said "There is just one orange but two of us. I am bigger, so, to be fair I should have the larger share."

The little monkey looked at his little orange, frowned and replied cleverly, "But my hunger equals yours so to be fair we should split the orange. That is fair."

"Very well", said the bigger, taking the orange. He peeled it and swallowed the pulp, all of it, while handing the peel to the little one. "You take the outside, I had the inside, fair is fair", and he turned and walked away.

Moral: When power and greed are allied there will be no fairness.
