Two Young Rats...Modern Fable
Two young rats were poking around a field looking for something good to eat. At the very same moment they grabbed hold of the same big worm, one the head and one the tail. They pulled and growled, kicked and scratched, while each one swallowed as much as he could.
Suddenly the worm was all gone and they had kissed! Their arms went limp and they looked away, ashamed of their fighting, their pounding hearts and burning faces. Then they looked up and deep into their eyes. They reached out and hugged, then walked away smiling, arms over shoulders, the very best of friends for the rest of their lives. Nobody else knew why.
