While technology in the classroom does have some disadvantages (as you mentioned above), there are also a great number of benefits that outweigh the disadvantages. A few of these benefits include: lightening students' backpacks, allowing teachers to extend the school day a bit, and engaging students.

Technology is often seen as a distraction, but often times it causes students to become more and more interested in their work than they are without it. Some teachers who's students were provided with tablets have chosen to send videos home with their students so that they can learn at home and use their time at school to ask questions and expand on the topic a bit more.
